I'm very honored to be joining prior mentors and fellow artists in the Eye Witness Project at Hampden Gallery, which opens Sunday, September 13. The reception is from 2-4pm in tandem with exhibitions by Meg Walker and Ron Michaud. Ron Michaud's show is titled "Paint, Color, and the Brain," which is fitting because he introduced me to Color Theory as an undergraduate and sparked my passion for teaching color.
"Eye Witness is comprised of 40 objects culled from the studios of artists and curators who have exhibited with Hampden Gallery over the years. The collected objects speak to the material and conceptual inspirations of the artists. Seeing the objects as a collection opens the possibility for viewers to glimpse into what things have sparked the artists, thereby allowing them to become eye witnesses to the inner workings of the creative process."
